Each division of the department, Community Development, Public & Media Relations, HCCTV, Print & E-Media, and marketing works together, using their resources to empower stakeholders in the college to “tell the story” about the college’s initiatives, programs and messages through a customized communication model that effectively delivers their message.
Houston Community College Northwest Visual Arts instructors Clara Hoag and Esther Delaquis-Baidoo both contributed pieces to a recent exhibit at the University of Houston’s Blaffer Gallery. Titled, “Bearing Witness,” the three-day show was a fundraiser for the Ukrainian American Cultural Club of Houston and its efforts to aid civilians impacted by the military conflict.
HCC will be authorized to offer training to instructors to deliver MSSC’s CPT 4.0 e-learning courseware, and its hands-on Certified Production Technician Plus (CPT+) program using the highly innovative “Skill Boss” training and testing device invented by Amatrol, the nation’s leading manufacturer of industrial technician training equipment.
The $3.3 million grant will go toward HCC Central’s efforts to prepare students to graduate from high school, enroll into a post-secondary program and complete their programs of study. Funding will be distributed over the next five years to offer pre-college support services to 131 students a year.
