HCC Adult Education efforts recognized by Mayor Annise Parker

Through its federal Adult Education grant, HCC provides over $760,000 annually to the Houston Center for Literacy, which is commissioned by the Mayor's Office to operate demonstration sites having the purpose of exhibiting best practices for literacy practitioners. HCC, the state's largest Adult Education program with grant funding totaling over $7 million, also supports the literacy operations of a number of other nonprofit organizations as well as conducting GED preparation and ESL classes directly at nearly 100 separate locations across Houston serving almost 10,000 students each year.
