Dr. Kimberly Beatty accepts position as HCC Vice Chancellor of Instructional Services, Chief Academic Officer

Dr. Kimberly Beatty has accepted the position as Vice Chancellor of Instructional Services and Chief Academic Officer for HCC following a national search. She is scheduled to begin on January 26, 2015, following approval at the Board of Trustees meeting on January 22.

12162-14_beatty_kim-2v2.jpgDr. Beatty currently serves as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success at Tarrant County College District. Her experience includes serving as Dean of Languages, Mathematics and Sciences at Tidewater Community College, Program Director of Campus Learning Communities and Associate Professor of English at Cypress College, and GED/ABE English Instructor at Maryland State Department of Education. Dr. Beatty holds a Bachelor of Arts, Masters of Arts in English and Doctorate in Higher Education Community College Leadership from Morgan State University.

While at Tarrant County College District, Dr. Beatty was an integral leader in the transformation process of the college. During her time at Tidewater Community College, she assisted with the process of building a new campus and starting programs at the campus. Prior to her administrative roles, Dr. Beatty was a faculty member for 12 years. Her background and experience in administration and instruction will be a great addition to the Houston Community College team.
